Two East Cleveland police officers fired over allegations of excessive force

The suspect Jesse Nickerson was taken to the hospital.

His friends and family members say the officers took him to a park and assaulted him after he was arrested.

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio-- The city has fired two officers after allegations of excessive force against a robbery suspect.

Mayor Gary Norton says the chief investigated the incident shortly after it happened Sunday and felt the officers should be terminated.

BCI is now investigating the  East Cleveland officers to determine if criminal charges should be filed.

The suspect, Jesse Nickerson, was taken to the hospital.

His friends and family members say the officers took him to a park and assaulted him after he was arrested.

Nickerson is expected in court later today.
