CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – What started out as a routine patrol for two Chillicothe, Ohio police officers ended up as anything but routine as they rescued a family from a car fire.

According to Fox News, Officer Benjamin Rhoads and his partner Officer Matthew Howell jumped out of their vehicle and ran to the burning car moments after seeing the smoke and flames. It was all caught on their dash cam video, which you can watch above (note: the burning car comes into view about :58 seconds into the video).

There were four people in the car, including two young girls in the back seat. The younger girl had to be cut from her car seat with Officer Howell’s pocket knife.
