After taking two of three games from the Detroit Tigers and climbing back into the playoff picture in the American League Central, the last thing the Cleveland Indians could afford to do was have a let down on the road as they began a nine game, 10-day road trip in the Twin Cities.
Let down was a great way to describe Friday’s game against the Twins. Minnesota jumped out to a 3-0 lead after Justin Morneau blasted his 12th home run of the season.
The Twins added five more runs in the fourth inning, three more in the sixth and blanked the Tribe 11-0.
The Indians finished with three total hits. The first hit didn’t come until Travis Hafner’s single in the fifth.
The two teams square off on Saturday evening at Target Field at 7:10.
