BOSTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Three people are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized $17,000 worth of drugs during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike in Summit County.
Troopers stopped a rented 2012 Chevy Cruze with a Pennsylvania registration for a marked lanes violation Tuesday evening. Troopers could smell burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and observed a raw marijuana shake on the car floor. Authorities also found the two female occupants concealing heroin and prescription pills.
Troopers seized two ounces of heroin, 192 oxycodone pills and one ecstasy pill.
Kory D. Smith, 27, Lauren A. Luke, 25, and Brandy Lee Ross, 19, all of Steubenville are charged with possession and trafficking heroin, possession and trafficking in a Schedule II substance, and possession of ecstasy.
Luke and Ross are also charged with tampering with evidence.
Smith could face up to 37 years in prison and a $72,500 fine.
Luke and Ross could face up to 42 years in prison and an $82,500 fine.
