GLENMONT, Ohio – Ever just want to get away from it all…maybe go live in a tree house? You only have to drive about two hours south of Cleveland to do just that. It’s all thanks to a family run business in Glenmont, Ohio, called The Mohicans.

But if you think that getting away from it all in a tree house means sleeping bags and campfire cooking, think again. These are upscale, luxury tree homes, complete with kitchens, indoor bathrooms, luxury beds and heat and air conditioning.

There are three of these tree houses on The Mohicans property: The White Oak, The Little Red and the newest, The Old Pine. The first two were designed with Pete Nelson, a tree house designer and the star of the Discovery Channel’s “Tree House Masters”. In fact, Little Red was featured on the show in March of 2013.  The Old Pine tree house, the newest addition, was made from 100% reclaimed materials including 100-year-old barn siding and hand hewn beams. Take a look:

The Little Red sleeps two people, and The White Oak and The Old Pine sleep up to four. If you want to fit in more people, or just prefer to keep your feet on the ground, there are also four cabins to stay in.
