SHEFFIELD LAKE, Ohio -- A Sheffield Lake home was quite a clean-up and quite a story to tell after severe storms rolled through Northeast Ohio Thursday morning.
Storms toppled over trees along Dunny Avenue in Sheffield Lake.
Jackie May was asleep in the basement when she heard the noise.
"It honestly sounded like someone had jumped onto the roof and slammed into the floor," said Jackie.
But instead of a person, it was a tree that shot through the roof of her home.
"Jackie called me, and I came home from work. We walked in there, and I saw it," said her father, Harry May.
The tree landed smack into the middle of her parent's bedroom.
Fortunately, Harry was at work when the tree crashed through.
"One in a million!" laughed Harry.
The Mays have already cleaned up the tree and boarded up the hole in the roof of their home.
They are grateful no one was injured.
"I get emotional considering what could have happened. We were lucky," said Jackie.
