BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (AP) — Police say one person suffered minor injuries when a strong storm lifted a pickup truck and blew it into a building at a shopping center in southwest Ohio.

Beavercreek police Capt. Eric Grile says the person in the truck was one of two people injured when the storm rolled through the Dayton suburb late Tuesday afternoon, damaging businesses and nearby homes, overturning cars and downing power lines.

WHIO-TV reports the National Weather Service confirms a tornado touchdown.

Grile said the pickup truck was thrown 60 yards from an adjacent Waffle House parking lot into the shopping center.

Officials are investigating witness reports that at least one tornado was seen.

TV news video from Dayton outlets showed damaged facades of businesses at the Green Crossing Shopping Center, as well as cars damaged and turned over in the lot.
