Thousands remain without power; some may not be restored until Monday afternoon

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio -- Thousands of customers remain without power Sunday following Saturday's storms.

According to FirstEnergy's outage map, at 7:00 p.m., about 3,600 customers are without power in Cuyahoga County. The cities most affected are Cleveland and Bay Village. FirstEnergy now lists Monday at 4 p.m. as the estimated time of restoration. 

About 1,100 customers are without power in Lake County. The city most affected, according to the outage map, is Mentor. FirstEnergy is listing the same time for restoration -- Monday at 4 p.m.


Cleveland Public Power is also dealing with outages.

Sunday morning, CPP told any customers who are still experiencing power outage issues to please contact 216-664-3156 to report them.

Sunday afternoon, they posted on Facebook:

"Yesterday’s storm hit Cleveland pretty hard... our linemen have been working tirelessly around the clock to get everyone restored. We are aware that there are still many areas without power, and we’re working on restoration for everyone!"

Sunday evening CPP provided an update on Facebook, saying in part:

"We can not say how long it will take for your specific area to be restored, however, we are aware that there are still quite a few of you without power and we are working nonstop until everyone is fully restored!."

Wicked weather blew in Saturday afternoon leading to severe thunderstorm warnings in some counties.  High winds brought down trees in some areas.
