CLEVELAND, Ohio — It was a day that anyone who was there will remember for quite some time.

When planners started organizing this year’s Fox 8 Fox Trot, presented by your Northern Ohio Honda Dealers, we knew it was going to be big.

But we never could have imagined just how special it was going to be.

Nearly 6,500 people participated in this year’s race Aug. 24 at Voinovich Park in Cleveland.

On Fox 8 News at 5 p.m. Thursday, wounded warrior Sgt. Shane Parsons, and his mom, Cindy, gave their thanks for the overwhelming event and show of support.

And Fox 8 unveiled a check from Northeast Ohio to the Wounded Warrior Project in the amount of $140,000!

Watch it unfold in the video player below.
