EATON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Elyria Post of The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released new details in the death of a Lorain County teen.

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Verdict, 18-year-old Dominic Zunis’ blood alcohol content was .172. The legal limit for blood alcohol content in Ohio is .08 and .02 for a person under the age of 21.

Police say Zunis failed to stop at the intersection of Mennell Road and Route 57 on March 23, 2013. His car went airborne landing in the partially frozen pond.

Zunis was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Ohio Investigative Unit completed a Traceback investigation due to the underage consumption of alcohol. As a result, several alcohol related misdemeanor charges were recommended against a 19 year old male from Grafton. He has not been officially charged.
