PORTAGE TOWNSHIP — A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after he was hit by a car while riding his bike Sunday afternoon.
According to the Sandusky Highway Patrol, the teen was traveling westbound on Lockwood Road when a Ford F-150 attempted to pass him. The teen turned in front of the truck, struck the windshield and landed in the roadway.
He was taken by medical helicopter to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo. The driver and the passenger of the truck were both wearing their seatbelts and did not suffer any injuries.
The crash is still under investigation. No citations have been issued.
