BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — A teen driver in northwestern Ohio has been sentenced to spend a week in jail after a crash killed four members of one family a year ago.
The boy, who’s now 17, admitted to a misdemeanor charge of vehicular manslaughter in a Bowling Green court on Thursday.
Investigators say the teen was driving home from school when he crossed the center line and hit a minivan.
The 71-year-old driver of the van and his wife were pronounced dead at the scene. The woman’s mother died the next day and her husband died about two weeks after the crash.
The teen apologized to the victims’ family in court. A judge suspended his driver’s license for two years and ordered him to do community service.
