Teen arrested in weekend shooting death of 12-year-old appears in court

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A 15-year-old boy arrested in the death of a 12-year-old over the weekend appeared in a Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court Tuesday morning.

Amir Taylor faces  25 counts against him, including  aggravated murder and attempted murder.

Taylor was previously taken into custody with the help of tips from people who saw  and heard what went on Friday night.  A group of teenage boys was standing at East 117th and Buckeye when someone started shooting.

Five people were struck. A sixth boy, 12-year-old Abdel Bashiti, was killed.

An alleged accomplice, Tavion Gideons, 15, was arrested Tuesday morning. 

During today's hearing,  Taylor was informed that prosecutors filed a request to move his case to adult court, where he could face more serious penalties if convicted.

Amir Taylor will be back in court in several weeks.
