Facebook just recently announced it’s working on a new button so people have another option to click besides ‘like.’
As Facebook users wait for the new so-called ‘dislike’ button to appear, there is reportedly a scam going around asking you to click to “get newly introduced facebook dislike button on your profile.”
According to CBS News, it may show up in your newsfeed, claiming the ‘dislike’ button is an invite-only feature. It then takes you to a page that looks like it’s from Facebook even though it isn’t. It asks you to share the page, then send it to five groups to activate the button.
The scam tries to lure you into providing personal information or may unknowingly be downloading malware onto your computer.
Last week, Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged for the first time that they are working on a button to “express sympathy.” Zuckerberg said the feature could launch “soon,” but they will not make you jump through hoops to get it.
