AKRON, Ohio- The man convicted of killing his girlfriend and their 5-year-old son received a life sentence on Wednesday.
Daniel Tighe was found guilty on several charges, including aggravated murder, in the deaths of Wendy and Peyton Ralston.
Summit County Common Pleas Judge Lynne Callahan imposed the jury’s recommendation of life in prison without the possibility of parole. He also received another life sentence.
“You deprived (Peyton) of his future. Irony that when you die in prison, and you will die in prison, the state will treat your body with more respect,” Callahan said. Tighe said nothing in court.
“At no time did I imagine being here today because this horrible man murdered her,” Marie Ralston, Wendy Ralston’s mother, said.
The mother and son were reported missing in July 2013 and their bodies were found weeks later behind a home on Stone Creek Drive in Tallmadge.
