ASHTABULA– State agents and Ashtabula and Trumbull County sheriff deputies raided the Blue Dragon store inside the Ashtabula Towne Square Mall Friday morning.
Agents say they have information that synthetic marijuana was allegedly being sold from the store.
The store owner and an employee have been taken into custody and charges are pending.
The state attorney general’s office is also considering filing a civil lawsuit.
Synthetic marijuana was linked to 11,406 drug-related emergency department visits in 2010, according to a first-of-its-kind report by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This is when it first started showing up on health providers’ radar, as the Drug Abuse Warning Nework detected a measurable number of emergency visits.
