VERMILION, Ohio — A portion of SR 2 in Vermilion was reopened Tuesday afternoon, after a device suspected to be a pipe bomb was found in a grassy area, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
It’s still not known what that item is. It was taken in for analysis.
Investigators say an employee with the Ohio Department of Transportation reported the suspicious item.
The Lorain County Bomb Squad responded.
SR 2 at SR 61 and SR 60 was closed for a short time, while the scene was being investigated.
