Suspects in custody after causing thousands of dollars in damage in Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, OH – Within six hours of asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects who vandalized Crestview School, police received a tip that led them to the suspects and the vehicle they used.

The Richland County Sheriff’s office was looking for the two suspects in connection with damage to Crestview School as well as area homes and vehicles.

The sheriff reports that after an interview Friday morning, one of the suspects, and adult, admitted to all the damage as well as admitting to two other cases of damage to mailboxes and a chicken coop.

Damage estimates in the criminal damaging and breaking and entering cases are estimated to be over $10,000.

A second suspect is a juvenile and deputies are in contact with his attorney.

The evidence and case investigation will be submitted to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.
