CLEVELAND -- A suspect was injured in a police-involved shooting Sunday evening, Cleveland police told FOX 8 News.
It happened just after 9 p.m. on Mapledale Avenue near West 38th Street.
Officials said two officers were involved in the shooting, and both are "OK."
Police sources told the FOX 8 I-Team the incident started when the suspect went looking for an ex-girlfriend, who was hiding in or near a neighbor's garage.
According to Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams, when officers responded to the report of a man threatening with a gun, they encountered the suspect in a driveway and ordered him to drop his weapon. That's when, Williams said, shots were fired.
The suspect was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.
Further details, including the condition of the suspect, were not immediately available.
