Suspect in murder at Akron gentleman’s club arrested in North Carolina

AKRON, Ohio– The man accused of killing another man at an Akron gentleman’s club was arrested in North Carolina this weekend.

Akron police said Daymond L. Hooks and the victim, Jerry Stallings, got into an argument at Centerfold’s Night Club on East Archwood Avenue on Nov. 17.

After the fight was broken up, Hooks, 29, left the club and returned with a gun. Police said he shot Stallings in the chest. The victim was found dead near the club’s entrance.

The Greenville Police Department in North Carolina arrested Hooks on Saturday evening, Akron police said. They received a tip about his whereabouts.
