CLEVELAND– Investigators determined a man arrested on a warrant for killing two people on a ramp to Interstate 90 is not their suspect after all, the FOX 8 I-Team learned.

At first, it appeared the long manhunt was over, but now the search continues for 36-year-old Gianni Gray.

Thursday morning, U.S. Marshals confirmed Gray was arrested in Austin, Texas. We also confirmed law enforcement checked with the Cleveland City Clerk’s Office to verify the arrest warrant.

But hours later, investigators found the man arrested had been using the same alias and date of birth of the murder suspect. A fingerprint check revealed the man arrested was not, in fact, the suspected killer.

The shooting happened on July 14 on the West 117th exit in Cleveland. Andre Williams and Malachi Perez Stewart, both 35, were sitting in a car when they were killed. A woman, who was in a separate vehicle, was also injured.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gray is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County at 216-252-7463 or click here. Tips can remain anonymous.
