Suspect in ATM holdup: ‘Don’t be stupid; give us the bag’

WOOSTER, Ohio — Police in Wooster are investigating an attempted robbery at an ATM on Beall Ave.

It happened in the early morning hours of Sept. 7.

A 30-year-old man told police he was trying to make the night deposit for a business when a man wearing a bandana came up to him with a screwdriver in his hand and said, “Don’t be stupid; give us the bag.”

Police say there was a second suspect standing by the vehicle. The victim tried to roll up the window while one of the suspects tried to hold it down.

When one of the suspects went to the passenger’s side of the vehicle, the victim was able to drive away.

Police say no money was taken.
