Suspect Charged in Accident That Killed Man Changing Tire

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio– Warrensville Heights police said a man has been arrested and charged in connection with a crash that took the life of a man,who was changing a tire, along I-480 on Feb. 2.

Police said Andrew Picha, 21, is charged with vehicular homicide; he pleaded not guilty.

Picha is accused of being the driver of the car that struck Lester D. Mitchell, 64, of Twinsburg.

Police said the suspect did stop at the scene.

Mitchell served as the chief of police for Cleveland State University from 2000-2006 when he retired.
