When it comes to nightlife, most people think of New York, Los Angeles, or Las Vegas.

But none of those cities cracked the top 10 when it comes to “The 10 Best Cities for Nightlife in America.”

The list was compiled by apartmentguide.com and is based on the ratio of bars, clubs and nightclubs per person.

Several Ohio cities — Cleveland, Cincinnati and Dayton — made the list.

Here is the list:

  1. St. Louis, MO (1 nightlife business per 1,143 people)
  2. Cincinnati, OH (1 per 1, 1192)
  3. Dayton, OH (1 per 1,200)
  4. Green Bay, WI (1 per 1,237)
  5. Cleveland, OH (1 per 1,281)
  6. Pittsburgh, PA (1 per 1,387)
  7. New Orleans, LA (1 per 1,420)
  8. Portland, OR (1 per 1,452)
  9. Fort Lauderdale, FL (1 per 1,637)
  10. Orlando, FL (1 per 1,649)
