CLIMAX SPRINGS, Missouri – One extra ticket was all Tyler Nilges, 22, needed to break the bank.

Nilges won $1 million in the November 7th Monopoly Millionaires’s Club drawing, according to a release from the Missouri Lottery. The big winner was in New Jersey, which triggered the picking of 14 numbers, including Nilges’.

“I was working the service desk the day I bought it, and service desk is where we sell the Lottery tickets,” began Nilges. “A (customer) wanted a Show Me Cash, a Lotto and a Mega Million ticket.”

He then printed the Millionaire’s Club ticket accidentally, but left it on the counter throughout the day hoping someone would buy it.

But nobody did.

“I thought, ‘Ok, it’s just going to mess up my count.’ So I bought the ticket.”

Nilges’ said he plays the lottery occasionally, but hadn’t played the Millionaire’s Club before that day.

He hasn’t decided how to spend his money yet either, but possibly towards nursing school, where he wants to stay close to home.

13 other players won as well as Nilges, from Arizona, D.C., Georgia, Maryland,  Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and two winners from both Florida and New York.
