STRONGSVILLE, OH - Retailers are noticing a new trend in the way you shop this holiday season. Black Friday no longer reigns supreme as the busiest day to shop. Super Saturday, the final Saturday before the holiday is anticipated to bring the biggest crowds.

According to the National Retail Federation (NRF) an estimated 156 million people will shop on Super Saturday exceeding the 154 estimated to have shopped over Thanksgiving weekend. Local shoppers at Strongsville's SouthPark Mall are noticing better deals as well.

"I bought a whole bunch of boots on Black Friday and then like a week ago they were cheaper, like a lot cheaper," said shopper, Marnisha Flowers.

The surge of shoppers is expected to grow leading up to the holidays. Kurt Reddick, the general manager of SouthPark Mall, says Christmas Eve falling on a Saturday this year will be just as hectic.

"I think there will be a lot of people off work; I think you'll find that's going to be a busy shopping day as well," said Reddick.

The most popular gifts this holiday season, according to the NRF, are clothing and toys. Despite millions of people getting a jump-start on shopping over Thanksgiving weekend, only one in 10 have finished shopping for loved ones.
