GREEN, OH – The Summit County sheriff is warning residents about two men posing as water department employees who are trying to get into people’s homes.

On Thursday, a Green homeowner called the sheriff after two men told her that they worked with the Summit County Water Department and needed to check the water meter in her basement because she had a sprinkler system. When the homeowner questioned the men, they told her that they could save her money on her property tax if she let them in. That’s when she refused and called police.

The men were in their 30’s and 40’s and were last seen leaving the area in a white cargo van.

If anyone has any information, please contact the Summit County Sheriff’s Office at 330-643-2181.
