Researchers with the nonpartisan Public Religion Research Institute claim ‘I know what you did last Sunday.’
The study found one in seven people fib about going to church, especially when asked on the phone.
Thirty-six percent of Americans say they go to church at least once a week.
Thirty percent admit they don’t attend. When asked online or on the phone, that number jumps to 43 percent.
The research company said people may not mean to exaggerate, many answer with what they think is the correct response.
