ROCHESTER, Minn. — Researchers at the Mayo Clinic have released a new study saying that a super-dose of the measles vaccine wiped out one woman’s blood cancer.

According to USA Today, the trial was conducted last year. In it, they found the measles virus killed myeloma cancer cells.

The woman involved was given a dose that is about 10 times what a normal person would get in a standard vaccine. She’d had cancer for 10 years, and has been without the disease for over six months.

The Mayo Clinic also is researching the virus when it comes to several other types of cancer, like ovarian and brain.
