Study disputes ‘dumb blonde’ stereotype

A new study may have you rethinking those blonde jokes.

Researchers from Stanford University examined the genetic code responsible for lighter hair, Forbes reported.

The factor that determines hair color is a slight difference on a region of human chromosome 12.

But scientists say that variation only affects the hair follicle, but other cells, such as brain cells, are not impacted.

The results were published in Nature Genetics.
