Strongsville Student Arrested for Threats Made to School, Students

A Strongsville High School student was arrested on Tuesday morning for allegedly making a threat to the school and its students.

According to an official with the Strongsville Police Department, the juvenile was arrested for inducing panic.

The official tells Fox 8 News that the student was using social media to alarm other students that there would soon to be an act of violence committed at the school.

Strongsville Superintendent Jeffery Lampert tells Fox 8 News that the threat was discovered early Tuesday morning and Strongsville High School Principal Bill Steffen took swift action in contacting authorities.

According to Lampert, the student has been suspended and an expulsion hearing is pending.

The official with Strongsville Police says the student has been released to the custody of his parents.
