BEDFORD, Ohio -- A street was named in honor of the late principal and community leader Paul G. Ward, Jr., Wednesday.

Ward, who was principal of Carylwood Intermediate School, died unexpectedly in May while participating in a spin class.

Students in May suspended all classes for one day to honor home and show their respect. Thousands also attended his home going service.

They wanted to start the new school year with a celebration and permanent reminder of the impact Ward had on their lives and the community by naming the school's street after him. It is now called Paul G. Ward Jr. Way.
