RAVENNA, Ohio-- A storm swept through Portage County Thursday afternoon.

The Portage County Emergency Management Agency said there was sporadic damage from Streetsboro to Ravenna.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the storm downed trees and wires throughout the northern part of the county. The patrol did not provide specific locations because there were too many to name.

At one point, more than 7,800 customers were without power in the county, according to FirstEnergy.

The Streetsboro Fire Department asked people to avoid the area of state Route 14 and Streetsboro Road just east of the town center because of the storms. That's near where winds took off the roof of China Chef.

"Looks like we have a microburst over here," said Streetsboro Fire Chief Robert Reinholz. "Trees down, wires down. All kinds of flooding."

Reinholz said there are no reported injuries.
