CLEVELAND, Ohio — Authorities say they have not located Facebook murder suspect Steve Stephens despite hundreds of tips from across the country.

Police say Stephens, 37, murdered a man on East 93rd Street Sunday afternoon.

Stephens posted video of the crime on his Facebook page, then in a series of other live videos, claimed to kill others. According to Cleveland police, 74-year-old Robert Godwin, Sr. was the only victim.

During a press briefing Tuesday morning, Police Chief Calvin Williams said despite Stephens’ threat, no further victims have been found so “we’re confident there are no more …but we still continue to search.”

Authorities said they’ve gotten over 400 tips nationwide in the case.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said that based on past cases that “in my opinion…either he’s dead somewhere or someone’s holding him up somewhere. We’ve seen a little bit of both over the years.”

Williams emphasized that if anyone feels they’ve spotted Stephens or his vehicle, they should call 911 or their local law enforcement jurisdiction so authorities can respond as soon as possible.

“We are going to get this individual one way or the other,” said Elliott.

Stephens is 6 foot 1 and weighs 244 pounds. He is bald with a beard. Police said he was last driving a white 2016 Ford Fusion with temporary tag E363630. Williams told reporters on Monday there is no reason to believe the suspect is no longer driving that vehicle.

Investigating agencies and Crime Stoppers are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s capture.

If you see Stephens, please call 911 immediately. Anyone with additional information or tips should dial 1-800-CALL-FBI.
