Suspect in Chardon Township standoff in custody

CHARDON TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Chardon Fire reports a suspect in a standoff is in custody. Parts of Route 6 were closed for several hours during the standoff. Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the area after a report a man intentionally damaged his neighbor’s car. The 66-year-old suspect threatened deputies, saying he was going to shoot them, according to the Geauga County sheriff. The man then barricaded himself in his home. At some point Monday morning, the suspect apparently left the home. He was arrested shortly after. The suspect has not been identified. Stay with FOX 8 for more as this story develops.
