GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) — Three men face charges after a man and his baby were injured in a shooting in Garfield Heights Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to the area of Langton Avenue and East 111th Street around 4:45 p.m. Thursday for reports of gunshots.

When they got there, officers found that a man and his 6-month-old baby were shot. They were both taken to the hospital.

Police officers in a Thursday morning update said the man, who was shot in his left hip, and the baby were both in stable condition — “which is great news,” Police Chief Mark Kaye told FOX 8 News.

The baby was taken to the same hospital, but then flown to another hospital, where she is currently hospitalized in stable condition, according to the release.

According to investigators, officers found the suspects on Wadsworth Avenue and after a standoff, all three of them were taken into custody.

The suspects, 22-year-old Khayree Sullivan, 22-year-old Marvin Bell and 22-year-old Kameren White are each charged with three counts of felonious assault.

Earlier in the evening, Garfield Heights police asked residents on Wadsworth Avenue, Langton Avenue and East 110th Street to shelter in place amid an active police situation.

That order was later lifted, but police remained in the area Thursday night. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation was also on the scene.

The shooting remains under investigation.
