CHICAGO – A small cargo plane has crashed into a Chicago home.
The Chicago Fire Department confirms the plane crashed into the home near Midway Airport just before 3 a.m. Tuesday, according to WGN.
Two elderly people who lived in the home were able to escape without being injured.
There was one pilot on board the plane, but firefighters have been unable to locate the pilot.
The plane crashed through the roof of the house and into the living room through the basement. There was no fire of explosion after the plane crashed.
The FAA says the Aero Commander 500 left Chicago’s Midway airport en route to Chicago Executive Airport in Palwaukee, but the pilot reported having engine problems just after take off and tried to return to Midway.
