APPLE CREEK, Ohio– A plane crashed in Wayne County Monday morning, killing two people.
It crashed in the front yard of a home Hackett Road between Carr and Kansas roads. The scene is near the Stoltzfus Airfield in Apple Creek.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the two victims are from the area. Their names have not been released. Early reports indicated there were six people on board, troopers said, but they later learned there were two.
The plane took down power lines during the crash, knocking out electricity. No one on the ground was injured.
The aircraft’s tail number shows it is a Douglas DC3C-66 Turbo-prop plane. It is registered to Priority Air Charter in Kidron.
