CLEVELAND — Family and friends are mourning the loss of 36-year-old April Magana.
Police said she was one of three people shot and killed after an altercation at a party early Saturday morning on Cleveland’s west side.
“They should know she had a big heart. She cared about all of the people in her life. Her children. Her family, and her friends,” said April’s sister, Tonya Szalay.
The other two victims include Muriel Nicole Tursivio and a man, whose name hasn’t been released.
“Muriel was a kind loving person. She had a witty sense of humor and loved to make others smile,” recalled her mother, Susan Tursivio. “She was very compassionate about animals and absolutely loved Pepsi.”
Muriel leaves behind a son and family who loved her deeply. She said they are devastated.
“Muriel was ripped from our lives by an act of heinous violence and she deserves justice. She was so widely loved and will be missed by many,” she said.
Kielontae Harris, 25, was arrested in connection to their deaths, according to authorities.
A celebration of life will be held in Muriel’s honor at Two Bucks in North Olmsted on November 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. A GoFundMe account has also been set up.
April’s family created a GoFundMe account as well to help with funeral expenses.
