Shaker Heights High School was slated to play Maple Heights High School on Thursday evening, but restrictions were put in place “as a precaution following a report of a possible threat related to tonight’s game,” reads a statement on the district’s website.
According to the district, multiple students reported the possible threat to a trusted adult.
“Based on the investigation thus far, it has been determined that we can safely proceed with school on Friday, September 15,” the district said on its website.
There will be additional security and a police presence at the high school on Friday.
Shaker Heights Middle School band students who were held at the school ahead of the Thursday game were dismissed to their guardians, according to the statement.
