CLEVELAND – Cleveland officers are investigating after three people were killed and two others were injured in a shooting.

It happened just before 8 p.m. Friday evening at a home in the 3700 block of Mack Court in the Brooklyn Centre neighborhood.

According to police, a man, a woman and a teenage boy were killed. A man and a juvenile female are in critical condition in the hospital.

A male suspect is in custody.

Investigators say the incident appears to be isolated and they believe it was domestic related.

“Our hearts go out to the family,” Police Chief Drummond said. “Our homicide unit is on the scene. The medical examiner office is in route as well.”

Police are on the scene investigating at this time. Mayor Justin Bibb and several family members are also on the scene.

Bibb’s office issued a statement early Saturday:

This has been a painful week as we face the devastation caused by another horrific act of gun violence in our city.

Tonight’s incident is particularly terrible as it took place at home, a place where a family should feel safe and secure.

My prayers are with the victims and their family, friends and neighbors as they navigate a tragic situation. I am also grateful to the responding officers for rendering aid, securing the neighborhood, and quickly apprehending the suspect.

We will provide updates as the situation unfolds.
