Several overnight interstate closures in effect

CLEVELAND — Drivers should be aware of interstate closures that will be in place from 8 p.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. Friday.
The Ohio Department of Transportation said crews will reposition and remove barrier wall along the route.
The following roads and ramps will be impacted:
I-77 south will be closed over I-490

Downtown ramps from Ontario, East 9th and East 30th/Orange Avenue will remain open for traffic entering I-77 south, but motorists will be detoured to I-490 west to SR 176 south to I-480 east to continue on I-77 south.


The ramp from I-90 west to I-77 south will also be closed.

I-90 west motorists bound for I-77 south will be detoured via I-90 west to I-71 south to SR 176 south to I-480 east to I-77 south. In addition, the left lane of I-77 north will close between I-490 and the East 30th Street exit ramp.

I-71 north will be closed at the Metro Curve.
I-71 north motorists will be detoured via I-490 east to I-77 north to reach downtown locations or continue on to I-90 east. In addition, the left lane of I-71 south will close at the I-90 split.
Upon reopening, the merge point for I-71 north motorists heading onto the GVV Bridge will be located at the Clark Road overpass, approximately 1,500 feet south of its current location.
