PARMA, Ohio – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Parma gas station owner.
Christine L. Saunders, 38, was charged with obstructing justice as police say she assisted murder suspect Logan Sinclair while he was hiding from police.
Parma police said while Sinclair robbed the Sunoco on Pearl Road Saturday evening, he exchanged gunshots with owner Robert Sposit. Later, the SWAT team arrested Sinclair at Saunders’ home on West 46th Street.
Officials say Sinclair arrived at Saunders’ home and instead of calling authorities, she went to a local store to get pliers to help Sinclair get two bullets out of his stomach. When she arrived back at home, police were surrounding her home, but she told them she had not seen or heard from Sinclair the entire day.
Sinclair was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for his gunshot wounds. When he was released, he was taken to the Parma City Jail.
The City of Parma asked for a $5 million bond, saying Sinclair is a flight risk, shot at a witness and was involved in another armed robbery the night of the murder. The judge set his bond at $3 million.
Saunders will appear in court on Monday, December 14.
