CLEVELAND – The Sea of Blue citizens group that supports police has put together a list of businesses and organizations that contributed food, drinks, and more to help police working long hours during the Republican National Convention, and the list is staggering.
Sea of Blue founder Mary Jo Graves said, “I sat down to make a list of businesses to thank and just kept writing! It’s crazy. It literally brought tears to my eyes.”
Many citizens made donations too. Some did it directly and others got together with crime watch groups. Some even dropped off donations at the homes of officers.
Mary Jo Graves struggled to find words strong enough to describe the outpouring of support adding, “Overwhelming. Paralyzing even. This is OUR city. This is Cleveland, and there’s no place better. None.”
The group wants to thank everyone who made a donation, no matter how small, and no matter if it made this list or not.
