PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio — Nearly 7,000 customers were without power in Portage County Monday morning, according to FirstEnergy.

Most of those customers were in Rootstown and Edinburg townships. As of 1:30 p.m., less than 100 customers remained without power.

Additionally, Rootstown Local Schools and Bio-Med Science Academy are both closed today due to the outages. Southeast Local-Portage schools are also closed.

Waterloo Local Schools and NEOMED in Rootstown were on a delay.
