Taco Bell has a new breakfast lineup and a new endorser to go along with it. His name is Ronald McDonald.
Several other endorsers are on board. Their names are also Ronald McDonald.
The fast food chain enlisted real people with the name of its competitor’s mascot to try the new menu.
In an ad posted on YouTube, the men introduce themselves as Ronald McDonald and say how much they like the breakfast.
“I’m Ronald McDonald and I love Taco Bell’s new breakfast,” they say in unison at the end.
At the bottom of the screen is written, “These Ronald McDonalds are not affiliated with McDonald’s Corporation and were individually selected as paid endorsers of Taco Bell Breakfast, but man, they sure did love it.”
Ad Age says the campaign will be the biggest in Taco Bell history.
Taco Bell’s breakfast menu is now available at participating locations nationwide and includes items like waffle tacos, a.m. crunchwraps and breakfast burritos.
