Retired South Euclid K-9 passes away after battling cancer

SOUTH EUCLID – Three years after retiring from the South Euclid Police Department, K-9 Recon has passed away.

In 2013, after 8 years of working, Recon was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

He retired shortly after his diagnosis because he could no longer perform as well with his illness.

Recon was partnered with officer Miles Blansette throughout his career.
