HURON, Ohio -- The search for a missing swimmer at Nickel Plate Beach in Huron will resume Monday morning.

According to Huron police, a 29-year-old Brittany Young, of Vermilion, was swimming at the beach Sunday and went missing.

Coast Guard officials say she was last seen by the line of buoys. There were 3 to 5 foot waves on the water and 15- 20 mph winds at the time of the incident.

Rescue operations were under way with personnel from Huron Police Department, Huron Fire, the Coast Guard and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Huron police say the search is being suspended for the night because of deteriorating conditions and a storm possibility.  Shore beach walks and water based searches will resume Monday at daylight as long as weather conditions permit.

The Sandusky Register provided FOX 8 with a photo from the scene.

This is the second water rescue at Nickel Plate Beach in two weeks.

This is a developing story.  FOX 8 will provide more details as they become available.

Editor's Note: Officials originally told FOX 8 that the woman was with her husband and 3 kids. We have since been told there were no children involved in the incident.  Officials originally reported the woman as 23 years old, which was incorrect.  This story has been corrected to reflect her actual age.
