LOVELAND, Ohio– The remains of a four-month-old baby girl were found on Monday after a statewide alert was issued when she was reported missing.

Authorities said the baby’s father, Charles Crawford, was arrested this afternoon and charged with murder, after information led investigators to what are believed to be Kaylynn Crawford’s remains, which were found along the river bank of the Little Miami River. Her car seat was also found.

Crawford told authorities that Kaylynn was taken from his car while it was parked at a Dollar General. But, investigators say that story was made up.

Crawford is sitting behind bars at the Clermont County Jail.
