Regional Amber Alert canceled, girl found safe

WINTERSVILLE, Ohio — A regional Amber Alert for an abducted Ohio girl has been canceled.

Several local counties were part of the alert to find the girl, who was found safe early Wednesday morning..

Mariska Montgomery, 7, was last seen on Cadiz Road in Wintersville, Ohio, in Jefferson County at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Scott MontgomThe suspect is her father, Matthew Scott Montgomery, a white male approximately 30-years-old. He is 5’3″, 150 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. He may be driving a light blue 1998 Ford Mustang with Missouri license plate numbers FK2U3Z.

Authorities say Montgomery has never met his daughter and his motive is unknown at this time.

The regional Amber Alert for Mariska Montgomery, 7, was issued for Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, Wayne and Holmes counties, as well as others in central Ohio and the Ohio Valley.
